Admission to KITM is open for undergraduate programmes affiliated to MAKAUT (formerly WBUT) for the notified academic session. First, choose your programme—BCA, BBA Honours, BBM in Hospital Management, or B.Sc. in Hotel & Hospitality Administration—and confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria (generally 10+2 from a recognised board with English; programme-specific requirements are listed on each course page).

Collect your mark sheets, transfer or migration certificate (if applicable), character certificate, passport-size photographs, Aadhaar copy, and reservation certificates if applicable. Obtain the admission form from the campus admission office or download the admission form, fill it in completely, and submit it with the required documents. Pay the application or admission fees at the counter or through online payment as instructed. After document verification and counselling, you will receive programme allotment and batch details. Complete the remaining fee payment, collect your student ID materials, and attend orientation before classes begin. Full step-by-step instructions are on the admission procedure page; you may also use online admission when the portal is active.

KITM offers four-year, full-time undergraduate degree programmes under MAKAUT affiliation, each divided into eight semesters with emphasis on field projects and practical training:

  • BCA — Bachelor in Computer Application (view details & fees)
  • BBA (H) — Bachelor in Business Administration Honours (view details & fees)
  • BBM in HM — Bachelor of Business Management (H) in Hospital Management (view details & fees); 75% seats reserved for girl students as per institute policy
  • B.Sc. in HHA — B.Sc. in Hospitality Management and Hotel Administration (view details & fees)

Each programme page lists eligibility, course contents, career prospects, semester-wise fee structure, and downloadable syllabus PDF. For placement and career support after graduation, visit the Placement Cell and Career sections.

For all undergraduate programmes at KITM, candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination from a recognised board with English as a subject. Admission is subject to seat availability, institute norms, and verification of original documents. Provisional admission may be granted to candidates awaiting final board results; however, originals must be submitted within the deadline notified by the admission office, failing which admission may be cancelled.

Programme-specific notes: BBM in Hospital Management applicants must have passed 10+2 with English; a major share of seats is reserved for girl students. BCA and other programmes may have additional requirements mentioned on the respective academic pages—always confirm with the admission desk before applying. Misrepresentation of marks, certificates, or personal details leads to cancellation of admission without refund. For counselling on eligibility and document checklist, call +91 9002318455.

KITM accepts online payment for application fees, admission confirmation, tuition instalments, examination fees, and other administrative charges when announced by the accounts or admission office. Before paying, confirm the exact amount, student name, roll number (if already allotted), and fee head with the office—do not rely on informal messages alone. Use only the payment link, QR code, or gateway shared officially through campus notice, institute email, or verified SMS from KITM.

After a successful transaction, save the screenshot and transaction ID. If the amount is debited but the status shows failed, do not pay again immediately; contact the admission office with your bank statement. Collect an official fee receipt from the institute after verification—online confirmation may not replace the office receipt where university or audit rules require it. KITM will never ask for your OTP, PIN, or card password over the phone. Full instructions are on the online payment page. Outstanding dues may delay issue of admit cards and publication of results.

Examination admit cards are issued before university or internal examinations according to the academic calendar published by the examination cell. Notices are displayed on the campus notice board and updated on the admit card page. When online download is enabled, students can use their roll number and date of birth on the institute portal link posted on that page.

To receive an admit card you must satisfy all of the following: minimum attendance as per MAKAUT / affiliating university norms; completion of internal assessments and laboratory records where applicable; no outstanding tuition, examination, or other fees; and valid university registration for the semester. Verify your name, photograph, subjects, and examination centre on the admit card immediately—report any error to the examination cell at least 48 hours before the first paper. Carry a printed colour copy and valid photo ID to every examination. Students without a valid admit card will not be permitted in the hall. See also rules & regulations for exam-day conduct.

Internal assessment marks and semester results are announced by the examination cell after completion of evaluation. When results are declared, they are published on the institute result page and notice boards. Students should check using their roll number and other credentials as instructed in the official notice. University (MAKAUT) results are also released on the university portal; KITM will guide students when university mark sheets and certificates are distributed.

If your roll number does not appear after the notified date, or if there is a discrepancy in marks, contact the examination cell in person with your admit card and identity proof—do not rely on unofficial social media posts. Withholding of results may occur due to low attendance, pending fees, incomplete internal assessments, or disciplinary cases. Resolve these matters with the accounts and academic offices promptly. For general examination rules, refer to rules & regulations.

KITM maintains zero tolerance for ragging in any form—physical, mental, sexual harassment, or cyberbullying in institute-related groups. Ragging is prohibited under UGC regulations, Supreme Court directions, and West Bengal laws. Every student and parent signs an anti-ragging undertaking at the time of admission. The institute Anti-Ragging Squad monitors campus, hostels, and transport areas throughout the year, especially during admission season.

Report any incident immediately to the squad convener, faculty, or office at +91 9002318455. You may also use the National Anti-Ragging Helpline 1800-180-5522 (UGC). Complaints are taken seriously; identity of complainants is protected where possible. Consequences for proven ragging include suspension or expulsion, FIR and criminal proceedings, withholding of degree, and debarring from future admissions. Freshers and parents should read rules & regulations before joining classes.

All enrolled students must follow the institute rules & regulations. This includes carrying a valid ID card on campus and during examinations; observing dress code and grooming standards; refraining from smoking, alcohol, and prohibited substances; and respecting faculty, staff, and fellow students. Mobile phones and electronic devices are restricted in classrooms and examination halls unless explicitly permitted by the teacher or invigilator.

Academic integrity is mandatory: assignments, projects, and laboratory records must be submitted on time, and malpractice in tests or examinations leads to disqualification and disciplinary action. Library books and institute equipment must be used responsibly—loss or damage may be charged to the student. Fee instalments must be paid by due dates; late payment may attract fines or withholding of admit cards and results. Ignorance of rules is not accepted as an excuse; violations may result in warning, fine, suspension, or expulsion depending on severity.
